THE ORDERING PROCESS
The LOCAL WILD FOOD interface on the Good Food Network platform is presently under construction. It will be launching wholesale to food businesses and chefs in the first quarter of 2021, with retail access for home cooks some time thereafter.
Orders are placed on-line on a weekly basis. They are co-ordinated and aggregated at PEDI from where they are also dispatched and dilivered to your door.
THE GROWERS AND PRODUCERS
In line with the mission and vision of Local WILD, the food unit, the first produce on offer will be the neglected and forgotten foods from the Cape Provinces.
The first producers to be selling on the platform are PEDI Farm, N'Rougas Family Farm and Ubuhle Bendalo. More will be added as more growers and producers take up engaging with Cape indigenous and wild foods.
In time, and as capacity grows, the intention is to add a greater variety of indigenous foods from other parts of South Africa.
