LOCAL WILD FOOD

ONLINE BUYING PLATFORM

In line with the mission and vision of Local WILD, the food unit,  the first produce on offer through this collaboration are a range of the neglected and forgotten foods from the Cape .

In time, the collaboration will extend to include the better known indigenous foods in cultivation in other parts of South Africa.

The Good Food Network platform on which this initiative has its presence, makes short supply chain transactions possible, ensuring maximised earnings for the selected and trusted growers and producers being represented.

It makes it possible to offer buyers some simple information about the foods that they might not yet be familiar with. It also offers transparency regarding their provenance by enabling the sharing of information about the producers and their restorative practices.

ORDERING PROCESS

The interface is presently under construction. It will be launching to food businesses and chefs in the first quarter of 2021, with access for home cooks some time thereafter.

Orders are placed on-line on a weekly basis. They are co-ordinated and aggregated through PEDI in Phillipi, from where they are also dispatched and delivered to your door.
